was designed to be the most user friendly interface on the market, there are always some questions that must be answered.
HOW DO I ADD A NEW ITEM?
To add a new
item, click on the "Add" button on the far right red panel. It is the first button below the direction arrows. Next, enter the Title and the Artist (only enter the artist if the entry is a single artist - noC
t a compilation [we'll discuss this below]). Next, click below the word "Media" and select the media that this entry is (Compact Disc, MiniDisc, Cassette, etc...) Next enter the titles to the tracks/songs and
the song's times.
*Using the "Folder Tabs" on the side of the information box
On the left side of the information box (to the right of the "Times" repeating field) you
will find four "folder tabs" labeled "BaE
sic," "Extra," "Eye&Ear," and "Notes." These
tabs are used to go to the layout where you can enter additional information regarding
the current entry. Basic contains the basic information pertaining to an ent
ry, Extra
contains fields where you can enter information that is a little more detailed,
Eye&Ear was created to house audio and graphical information about a selection (a
sound clip or cover art/etc), and NotG
es is a layout where you can enter notes and/or
comments about the current selection.
HOW DO I DELETE AN ENTRY
To delete the *current* entry that is displayed on the screen, click the button labeled "Delete" t
hat is found on the red panel.
HOW DO I MODIFY AN ENTRY I ALREADY ENTERED?
To modify an existing entry, just go to that entry and change the information you want by clicking in the corresponding field and makiI
ng the necessary changes.
WHAT IF MY ENTRY HAS MORE THAN 25 TRACKS?
At this time, Audiofile
only accomodates 25 tracks as a maximum amount. If this is a major problem for youm please let us know and will wil
l do all we can to make accomodations for this ability in future versions (don't hesitiate to as for ANYTHING - we are more than happy to incorporate users suggestions into our products).
HOW DO I SEE A LIST OK
F WHAT I HAVE?
To list your entries in a convienent single or double line layout, just click on the button labeled "List" in the red panel. This will allow you to see a *basic* or *detailed* list view of your
collection.
HOW DO I ENTER COMPILATION OR "BEST-OF" ITEMS?
To enter a compilation, best-of, or related entry (one that has multiple artists for each track - not the same artist throughout the entire album), enM
ter the Title as you would for a single artist selection, BUT leave the "Artist" field blank. Now, after you enter the track names in the "tracks" field, enter the artist who performed the track in the field i
mmediately to the right of the "tracks" field. Compilation entries will be denoted by the word "Compilation" at the top of the 1 status box.

The Main Menu was designed to be very self explanitory. To enter the Editor (the screen where you enter your collection into Audiofile
, click on the oval button labeled "Editor." To search B
for an item that you have already entered, or to search for specifics about an entry, click on the oval button labeled "Search." To print your collection, click on the oval button labeled "Print."

Although the Editor for Audiofile
was designed to be the most user friendly interface on the market, there are always some questions that must be answered.
HOW DO I ADD A NEW ITEM?
To add a new
item, click on the "Add" button on the far right red panel. It is the first button below the direction arrows. Next, enter the Title and the Artist (only enter the artist if the entry is a single artist - noC
t a compilation [we'll discuss this below]). Next, click below the word "Media" and select the media that this entry is (Compact Disc, MiniDisc, Cassette, etc...) Next enter the titles to the tracks/songs and
the song's times.
*Using the "Folder Tabs" on the side of the information box
On the left side of the information box (to the right of the "Times" repeating field) you
will find four "folder tabs" labeled "BaE
sic," "Extra," "Eye&Ear," and "Notes." These
tabs are used to go to the layout where you can enter additional information regarding
the current entry. Basic contains the basic information pertaining to an ent
ry, Extra
contains fields where you can enter information that is a little more detailed,
Eye&Ear was created to house audio and graphical information about a selection (a
sound clip or cover art/etc), and NotG
es is a layout where you can enter notes and/or
comments about the current selection.
HOW DO I DELETE AN ENTRY
To delete the *current* entry that is displayed on the screen, click the button labeled "Delete" t
hat is found on the red panel.
HOW DO I MODIFY AN ENTRY I ALREADY ENTERED?
To modify an existing entry, just go to that entry and change the information you want by clicking in the corresponding field and makiI
ng the necessary changes.
WHAT IF MY ENTRY HAS MORE THAN 25 TRACKS?
At this time, Audiofile
only accomodates 25 tracks as a maximum amount. If this is a major problem for youm please let us know and will wil
l do all we can to make accomodations for this ability in future versions (don't hesitiate to as for ANYTHING - we are more than happy to incorporate users suggestions into our products).
HOW DO I SEE A LIST OK
F WHAT I HAVE?
To list your entries in a convienent single or double line layout, just click on the button labeled "List" in the red panel. This will allow you to see a *basic* or *detailed* list view of your
collection.
HOW DO I ENTER COMPILATION OR "BEST-OF" ITEMS?
To enter a compilation, best-of, or related entry (one that has multiple artists for each track - not the same artist throughout the entire album), enM
ter the Title as you would for a single artist selection, BUT leave the "Artist" field blank. Now, after you enter the track names in the "tracks" field, enter the artist who performed the track in the field i
mmediately to the right of the "tracks" field. Compilation entries will be denoted by the word "Compilation" at the top of the 1 status box.

(designated by record number), click on the white-text number to the LEFT of the word "of" in the upper section of the red panel right below the direction arrows.

Searching has been simplified with Audiofile
by incorporating a unique "Universal Search" field. The universal search field searches the title, artist, label, catalog#, media, etc fields - everB
y field that text can be entered into is searched by the universal field. This is an excellent choice if you are not sure where a word may appear in an entry.
To search specific fields, enter data into one o
f the fields below the Universal Search field.
***IMPORTANT!
The search will NOT work if you do not click the "Search" button at the bottom right corner of the search screen. Once you enter your query, click D
the "Search" button. If Audiofile
finds what you are looking for, you will be sent to the "Items Found by Search" screen. If Audiofile
doesn't find what you were looking for you can either cancel the whole E#search, or you can modify the find.
A List-Help

You can view your collection as a list in either the "Basic" mode or the "Extended Mode." To switch between modes, just click the words "???????? List View"
To go to a selection, and enter the edB?itor, just click the little starburst to the left of the entry.

offers extensive pre-configured print layouts to suit your every need.
Audiofile
allows you to print your collection in the following manners:
1. Artist, Title, Catalog Number, MB
2. Artist, Title, Catalog Number, Media, Tracks and Track Times
3. Just about everything EXCEPT tracks and track times
4. Inventory Status
To select a print layout just click on the WHITE text at the t
op of the screen that displays the information you'd like to print.
NOTE: Unlimited, additional print layouts can be added when you Register Audiofile
